Our May outing looms for Saturday 24th - and promises to be as interesting as all the others have been so far.
We will be travelling inland this time, somewhere about 45 minutes out of Cape Town.
A place I don't think any of us have been to yet and so a new experience for us all.

As autumn is with us now, and winter in Cape Town, although taking a long time to show its face, will be with us soon, some of our outings may become indoor events or we will brave the elements and continue to explore this beautiful city of ours.

So far our trips have been to the Cape Point Vineyards in Noordhoek, an exquisite setting set high on the hill with the Noordhoek Beach and valley stretching out in front of us.   Relaxing atmosphere as we wandered around the food market, tasting different foods before settling on our meal for the evening. Sitting on the lawn with the glimmering lake in front of us and surrounded by such beauty was a lovely start to our FFCT initiative.

Our second day out was in Kalk Bay - and another amazing summers day.   We took a long stroll along the beachfront as far as the corner to Clovelly and then wandered slowly back before joining the happy throng of other people at the well-known and much loved and visited Kalkies in the Harbour.   Massive helpings of fish and chips eaten with plastic forks.  We certainly know how to eat on our days out.

Hout Bay and the Hout Bay Market was our next destination - starting off as an incredible summer's day.  The Market was fascinating, throngs of people milling about shopping, eating and drinking and just being together.    We wandered around the old Harbour before heading off to the new Harbour and a little walk on the beach.    Beautiful views of the Harbour, the entrance to the bay surrounded by mountains - we headed off to Lookout Restaurant as we noticed the weather and some rain making its way towards us.   Another wonderful lunch at Lookout as the rain set in - a mixed platter of fish, calarmari and other lovely nuggety things.

And so we continue.
