HOUT BAY
Saturday 29th March 2014

We did have an awesome day - our destination chosen by Karen.    Took the very scenic drive to Hout Bay, over Constantia Nek - the sun made a wonderful appearance as we drove into Hout Bay and wound our way down to the part of the Harbour where the Hout Bay Market is.

After a stroll around the market and an ice cold glass of beer/wine, we wandered through the old part of the Harbour where derelict boats lay sadly beneath the water, taking their story with them.
We watched boats sailing in and out of the bay from the Cannons.

While the sun was still shining on us we made our way to Hout Bay Beach and had a leisurely stroll along the beach - what beautiful white sandy beaches we have in Cape Town.

and as we watched the dark clouds coming into the bay heralding the onset of rain, we headed off for an early dinner to The Lookout Restaurant.
Shared platters of calamari, chicken goujons and mushrooms, as well as the obligatory plate of chips - which we could not tempt David with.
As we settled into our delicious meal and wine, the rain arrived and we sat under cover, not managing to avoid the raindrops altogether, and watched the Bay change from a bright sunny blue to a misty grey.

Such a lovely day with many new and revisited experiences - from the Hout Bay Market, to watching the seals being fed by the fishermen who had just come in, to eating at The Lookout and watching two seasons in the space of a few hours.

Looking forward to our next adventure!
